He is responsible for the Property and Facilities Department and also for providing support services to various departments in obtaining regulatory clearances. He is also a fellow of the Aeronautical Society of India. He has been awarded Dr. Biren Roy Trust Award (AeSI)outstanding contributions in growth of civil aviation in the country.

Bantval Vittal Baliga was an electronics engineer who served as the first Chief Engineer of All-India Radio after independence with responsibility for setting up the radio network in India between 1947 and 1958. At the request of the Defense Ministry, he took the helm of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in 1958. As Chairman and Managing Director of BEL, he introduced the production of semiconductor technology and TV tubes bringing BEL into profitability by 1960. Under his leadership, revenues at BEL grew from 53 lakhs in 1958 to 2700 lakhs when he retired in 1968. He was responsible for founding the Institute for Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers in India and served as its Founding President.

Yogish Baliga dedicated his life to Hindusthani Clasical Music. He served as principal of Saraswati Sangeeth Shala (Music School) in Bantwal since 1964 and later from 1987 as founder-principal of Jaycees Music School in Karkal. He was also serving as founder-president of Shastriya Sangeet Sabha Karkal since 1992.
He held 'Vidwat' in Tabla and Violin.

Prior to coming to the U.S. in 2001, he lived in Australia for 10 years and taught engineering at Deakin University.

He has written 12 books, over 500 scientific publications, and been granted more than 100 U.S. Patents. She moved to the United Kingdom in 1996 and worked as senior house officer (SHO) in OB&GYN at various institutions in Wales and in Liverpool. She also worked as SHO in Neonatology and Pediatrics at Arrowe Park Hospital Upton, Wirral, U.K. She was SHO in Oncology and Radiotherapy at Clatterbridge Center of Oncology Clatterbridge, Wirral, U.K. Between Aug. 95- Jan. 96-she was the Senior SHO in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Fazarkerly General Hospital, Liverpool, U.K. She arrived in USA in 1996 and entered family practice residency program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas. She was awarded the prestigious Dr Goss award for excellence in patient care. She moved to New York in 2001 and joined a private group practice. She came to Columbus in September 2005.

She is married to Bantwal Suresh Baliga M.D.

Dr. Shakuntala Baliga is currently a senior consultant at the Sagar Apollo Hospital, Bangalore, The Apollo Clinics and Gangothri Hospital in Bangalore. She is a graduate and a postgraduate from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (A.I.I.M.S.), New Delhi. She secured distinction and was awarded the First Prize in OB/GYN at the final professional examination in 1974 and was awarded the MD degree in May 1979. She completed three years of Senior Residency (Registrarship) at A.I.I.M.S. Thereafter, she joined Lady Hardinge Medical College (L.H.M.C.), New Delhi as faculty member. She was Professor from March 1993 till January 2004 when she took voluntary retirement from central government service and settled in her home state, Bangalore. Dr. Baliga has vast clinical experience in gynecological surgery, management of infertility, gynecological cancers etc.

Dr. Shantharam B. Baliga is a pediatrician & Professor in KMC Mangalore and closely associated with Mangalore Medical Relief Society. Over the past decade, Dr. Baliga’s initiatives in providing voluntary medical services, directly resulting in the revitalization of affordable tertiary care in public hospitals in Karnataka. Records show that his work has reduced the infant mortality rate in Karnataka, along with making health care more available. Today, more than 2,000 children of poor families receive free care from these facilities.

He has been nominated for the Jonathan Mann Award for ‘Global Health and Human Rights’ for his initiatives.

He is also the President of Malaria Control Action Committee in Mangalore. His initiatives contributed to a large extent in making Mangalore a better living place.

B.Venkatrao Baliga (1890-1945) was a lawyer and was junior to Shri Ammembal Subbarao Pai the founder of Canara Bank. Vakil Venkatrao Baliga as he was called was also become chairman of Canara Bank during 1942-45. Venkatrao Baliga was elected to the post of Chairman, Municpal Council of Mangalore Municipality in 1938. He served from 1938-1943. He was jailed for participating in the Indian Indipendence Movement. Because of the ill treatment and torture he suffered in the jail he died soon after his release.
